Hull Porchfest Preview: Musicians Tom Hardey, Sherman Whipple, and John Goldie perform

Tom Hardey, Sherman Whipple, and John Goldie were our guests tonight.

Tonight,  three local musicians, Tom Hardey on mandolin, Sherman Whipple on guitar, and John Goldie on bass, performed on My Generation, broadcast live on 95.9 WATD-FM from 7-8 PM.

Hardey, founder of Hull Porchfest, discussed the origin of a new musical event that will take place on Saturday, September 8, from noon to 6 pm, in the Kenberma section of Hull. Porchfests–outdoor musical street festivals– are springing up all over the nation, and this will be a first for Hull. The event is free, open to the public, and will feature more than 50 live musical acts performing on 18 porches (genres will include folk, indie, rock, alternative, country, blues, bluegrass, and traditional Irish music). During tonight’s show, the trio performed several songs. For a list of performers, band locations, and much more information, please visit the event website, www.hullporchfest.org.
