A graduate of the Vesper George School of Art in Boston, Kathy Ferrara enjoyed a career as a fashion illustrator and retail artist for 30 years before devoting all her time to fine art.

Her commercial work has given her strong drawing and design skills that carry over into her dynamic watercolors. She has studied with several highly respected artists including Tony Couch, Alvaro Castagnet, Tony van Hasselt, and Marshall Joyce. Her work has been represented in many galleries on the South Shore and on the Cape, and she has won numerous awards over the years.

Her style is rich in color and depth, with impeccable attention to detail. She draws with precision, yet paints with a soft elegance, drawing you into her paintings, visually wetting the appetite.

Kathy is a member of the Plymouth Guild of Arts, the Duxbury Art Association and is a Signature Member of the New England Watercolor Society.

Kathy is celebrating her 80th birthday with a one-person show entitled “Duxbury Sights and Delights” at the Helen Bumpus Gallery at the Duxbury Free Library, 77 Alden St. Duxbury. The opening reception is Friday, November 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the show runs through January 3, 2027.
